Professor Thomas Just Sørensen obtained his PhD from the University of Copenhagen in 2010 working on fluorescent dyes with Prof. Bo W. Laursen. After research stays with Prof. Stephen Faulkner at Oxford, Sir J. Fraser Stoddard at UCLA, Prof. Jerome Lacour in Geneva, and Profs Ignacy and Karol Gryczynski at UNT in Fort Worth he returned to take a permanent position at the University of Copenhagen in 2014. Thomas is an entrepreneurial scientist with several start-up companies. His research focuses on lanthanide chemistry in solution and chemical sensors.
